Our Provision Of Care

We understand the importance of providing successful placements for looked after children and a cost effective solution to local authorities.

 

We provide as standard a staffing ratio of 1:1 who are experienced and trained in working alongside children with complex and challenging behaviours.


As a team we are committed to ensure that every intervention provides a positive step to support our young people to develop coping mechanisms to resolve past experiences and develop life skills, self-esteem, confidence and resilience. Our interventions will incorporate family work to support sustained positive contact.


The young people within our care will be part of a positive living experience which meets and exceeds the requirements of the National Care Standards.


We will promote and uphold the rights and views of the young people and where necessary advocate on their behalf.


Our practice based interventions include, Dyadic Development Attachment, Social Pedagogy and Opportunity led Life space interventions.

 

At a glance - Every young person will have -

  • planned visits prior to moving in
  • access to the welcome pack
  • a Planning Meeting 72 hours following admission to make plans for their short term future
  • an Individual Care Plan which takes account of his / her specific support needs
  • a Looked After Children Review which will formalise there care plan.
  • a Key Worker
  • the provision of a 1:1 staff ratio to support the provision of a close support service
  • a homely living enviroment with experienced residential care workers who can support during the most difficult of situations with trauma, child protection, proactice interventions and CALM training as standard 
  • a bedroom that is secured with individual locks to ensure the security and privacy of our residents and their belongings 
  • a bedroom that has an en-suite toilet and shower facility
  • a homely living area with access to game consoles and internet access
  • the provision of healthy meals prepared by our house keeper using fresh produce daily
  • access to a spactious family sized bathroom for our young people to enjoy a relaxing bubble bath
  • access to a full range of activities and events to meet the young persons needs
  • access to the laundry area where young people will be encourage and supported to help
  • access to public transport links into the community

 

Each young person is encouraged and supported to have a representative to attend meetings with them.
