Horizons Residential Care have a proven record of providing successful placements for looked after children as a cost effective solution to local authorities across Scotland.
Operating with an, as standard, staffing ratio of 1:1, Horizons provides ‘close support’ and ‘intensive therapeutic care’ through employment of experienced and dedicated staff teams. Our care practice is specialised to meet the most complex and challenging needs of all young people in our care. Building on existing success, Horizons is in the process of expansion to provide additional opportunities for care of young people.
As experienced professionals, we are committed in ensuring that every opportunity-led intervention provides a positive step to support our young people. Our provision of care aims to promote the development of coping mechanisms to resolve past experiences and enhance individual capacity in respect of life skills, self-esteem, confidence, and resilience.
Furthermore, we appreciate that family work is integral in the long-term success and sustainability of meaningful family contact.
We proactively seek the views and opinions of our young people and value their contribution and comments. We promote and uphold the rights and views of our young people and where necessary advocate on their behalf. The positive living experience meets and exceeds the requirements of the National Care Standards.
Horizons have spent time creating the right environment, recruiting a team of professionals who have embraced, nurtured, and grown the vision of care into a care setting that primarily seeks to make a difference in the lives of young people across Scotland.
